The Boston Older Americans Independence Center (OAIC) aims to bring experts from many different disciplines together to conduct research and to train young scientists in the development of function promoting anabolic therapies for the prevention and treatment of functional limitations and disability among older Americans.

AIMS

Develop an interdisciplinary research program that fosters the development of function promoting anabolic therapies(pharmacological, nutritional, physical) for the treatment and prevention of aging-associated functional limitations.

Develop and interdisciplinary Research Career Development Program to enhance the training of a cohort of investigators with expertise in function promoting anabolic therapies and aging-associated functional limitations and disability.

Develop Resource Core Facilities to support inter-disciplinary research programs.

Stimulate translation between basic and clinical research in function promoting anabolic therapies by facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations.
